The platform I've adopted in 2025, Campfire.gg (a platform to watch videos in sync with friends), automatically signs you into an anonymous account when you enter the website for the first time, so you can use all the features. This number has reached a total of 75,311.

That's a really high number! I've never had any such numbers of products that I own myself. Surely I've worked on apps that have this many users, but it hits differently when it's something you own. And so I kept it, because number-go-up-is-good!

But why? What does that number say? It says that 75,000 people tried my app. But we 'only' have 1,700 accounts on our platform, so that's a lot less actual accounts (don't get me wrong, I love that number).

The app sometimes goes 'viral' in its own way. It's particularly in China and Singapore. I have no idea how! I've checked platforms like Weibo looking for it, but no dice. I also have received some offers on the domain, so I'm relatively sure someone appreciates it.

But this number of 75k really is just vanity, and I generally don't do that. Why keep that stuff in your database? In a way, storing things just for the sake of storing things. But I am not that kind of person.

So bye-bye 75,000 non-accounts, you have been removed. But I hope you check out Campfire.gg. It's going to do some fun things this year!
